Recently on the Oprah Winfrey Show I watched Bill Clinton wax eloquent asonly Bill Clinton can. Clinton's voice cracked and he choked back tears as heextolled the rewards of giving. His new book, Giving: How Each of Us CanChange the World, which he was promoting on the show, is an impassionedendorsement of selfless charity.
But why would one of the most savvy politicians (and one of the mostpopular former presidents) sit down to talk to one of the most influentialwomen in America -- when she has publicly thrown her support behind BarackObama, his wife's No. 1 obstacle to becoming the Democratic Party's nominee tobe the first female president?
Does Bill Clinton really need Oprah's endorsement to sell his books?
