New Mexico Democratic Party officials say Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has been declared the winner of the state's caucuses, nine days after the Super Tuesday vote.

After 17,000 provisional ballots were counted by hand, the final statewide count gave her a 1,709-vote edge over rival Sen. Barack Obama, 73,105 to 71,396, the Associated Press reports.

The national delegate count now stands at 1,276 for Obama and 1,220 for Clinton, according to the AP's running tally.
